The Blue Valley Youth Sailing Foundation (BVYSF) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable entity created by members of the Blue Valley Yacht Club. The youth program offered by the BVYSF is the Opti Sailing Camp. The Opti Sailing Camp is for youth ages 7-14. They use the same sailboats as used in the International Opti Dingy Association. The six day camp teaches water safety, how to assemble and disassemble the sailboat, boat handling skills, and how to sail a specified course. There is also an Advanced Program where youth who have gone through the Camp Opti program hone their skills in Opti Prams, Sunfish, and Flying Junior sailboats.
